On September 1st, check out Pig Island on Governor's Island from 11:30am to 4:30pm. There will be 80 locally-sourced hogs cooked up by 25 New York City chefs! Plus, live bands, and beer and wine for sale. Tickets here. Next, Food Karma Projects will bring fifteen local craft brewers to the Rockaway Beach boardwalk on September 8th. Tickets are only $28 and can be purchased here. A ticket gets you a punchcard for sampling brews from local breweries like Kelso of Brooklyn, Six Point, Founders, and more; there will also be food for sale by Rockaway Taco, Ripper's, and Caracas. From noon to 5pm, crawl your way along the Boardwalk, stopping at the concession stands at 86th, 96th, and 106th streets to enjoy beers and food.
Green Rabbits collaborate to create events, projects and programs that connect people, businesses and communities to regional food systems. We are available as consultants, advisors, educators and hands-on planners. We are always exploring new projects and would love to hear your ideas for how to integrate food into solutions building in New York, or elsewhere.
